The
dust may blow in suspended condition predominantly if it is light or in the
reverse direction; thereby not allowing the dust to settle in the hopper. This
phenomenon is termed as fluidization of dust. This fluidization of dust results
in high difference pressure across the bag filter, abrasion, and ultimately
choking of bags. This is where an offline bag filter is employed. Throughout
this time, the outstanding sections keep filtering the gases as usual. Each
compartment is cleaned one after another in this manner.
The
start & stoppage of gas flow through separate compartments is achieved
through a compact pneumatically operated poppet damper system located at the
outlet of each module. While the pulsing in individual compartments is
controlled by means of a section sequential controller, the sequence of
operations of the dissimilar compartments with respect to each other is
controlled by a master sequential controller. In an online jet bag filter, bags
get cleaned row by row even when filtering of dust laden gas is in process. A
Sequence control timer, as the name suggests, controls the sequence of filter
cleaning. It does signal solenoid operated pulse valves; which, in turn, direct
high pressure air pulse to filter bags.
Offline
Bag Filters are suitable for volatile (low density), dust, fume dust and large
volumes (i.e. 1,00,000 CMH). An Offline Bag Filter is used when the dust in
gases is light and in the form of fine particles. In an online bag filter, the
dust that is dislodged from a row of bags may be picked up by the adjacent row
of bags as the latter is under suction in the pulse jet bag filter market.
The
Offline Bag Filter typically contains 4 to 6 bag filter compartments or
modules. Each compartment is like an online bag filter. Though, here the gas
flow through a section is stopped provisionally when the pulse cleaning of the
bags is to be done in that compartment. The dust dislodged from the bags settles
naturally in the hoppers because of the absence of any counter-current gas
movement in this booth. The dust so collected is cleared from the hopper over
the rotary airlock valve in the pulse jet bag filter market.
